My hard drive went out on Blue Pegasus and I haven’t gotten around to replacing it just yet. In the meanwhile, I’m taking the challenge to see if I can use my ipad like a laptop. As a result, I’ve been using it for tasks that I normally do on the computer. I have been using it for the last few days to write code, which is far more intensive than just using it to check email. Surprisingly, it’s held up better than I expected. Add a few apps that I would have never before considered and I’ve been able to push this baby. Some limitations are that file management can be clunky, multitasking isn’t so seamless but it’s been a solid makeshift arrangement. I tend to work better under constraints because they force me push past my limitations and that’s exactly what’s been happening. Needless to say Ipad is no replacement full scale development but we’re making the most out of this experiment. I’m curious to see how long I can keep this up before I am compelled to fix my laptop.
